Founded on a short, but colorful history of ripping on the performance (and existence) of each other’s favorite teams and home states, the writers of Border Battle created the site as an outlet to celebrate the rivalry, and provide fans of the Packers and Vikings with a unique alternative to the typical coverage of their teams. We’ll promise to provide original content on each of the teams and the rivalry itself, along with worthwhile links, humorous material and ammunition for that next bar debate over the two storied franchises (well, whether both are storied is debatable).

If you want indepth analysis, you'll want to stick to your local columnist's Monday morning post-game column. The writers of Border Battle are no "experts," and we won't pretend to be. Instead, this place is the voice of the die-heard fan. While we will cover each team individually (as well as focus on the great rivalry itself), the slant will be unique and offbeat, featuring quirky stories about the current events of the teams, individual players and moments in history. In addition to stories, we'll be featuring plenty of links to worthwhile reads, jokes, contests and of course, hate-fueled banter (yes, hate is a strong word, but this is the Packers/Vikings we're talking about!).

And because the NFL season isn’t 365 days a year, we’ll make sure to include some Twins, Brewers, Badgers and Gophers content while we’re at it.

We hope you enjoy the blog. We have plenty of entertaining original content planned including (hopefully) a podcast coming as the regular season begins. More importantly, we want our readers to get involved. So please, if you have some something to say about what we've been spewing off about, use that comments link.
