Why cheer in a game when your guys are getting spanked? To get them fired up? If I pay to watch these guys play baseball of all things I expect them to give me something more to cheer about.

I honestly wish well for the Twins, but the average Twins fans are just awful. You can hear crickets chirping during the 7th inning of a 4-4 ballgame if the team isn't up in the standings. Honestly, until about a month ago, I wasn't even sure if Minnesota had a baseball team. I apologize to the hardcore fans of the Twins, but even they can admit their minority status within the category of a "TWINS FAN." I have heard it out of way too many "TWINS FAN's" mouths to question it any longer...
This situation has repeated many times during my time in the great city of Minneapolis:

Me: "You're from Minnesota, huh? You like the Twins?"
Average Twins Fan: "Well...if they're winning."

Border Battle and AOL Sports

Hey Eric and Aaron,

I'm the host of the Sports Bloggers Live radio show and am leading an effort that may involve Border Battle. Here's the one-sentence overview ... AOL Sports is launching a massive NFL blog in August that will be updated dozens of times daily by dozens of bloggers, all of whom are paid to post.

After searching the blogosphere for the top NFL bloggers, we believe that Border Battle is truly among the best, and would like you to be among this elite group of AOL sports bloggers, ideally as a contributor focusing on the both the Vikings and Packers (each of you would cover your own team). While you'd be posting on AOL just about every day, you would not be precluded from doing what it is you're already doing on Border Battle. In fact, we encourage you to continue your non-AOL blog and use your AOL work to further build recognition for yourself and your site with other Vikings and Packers fans and within the industry at-large.

I sent you this message as an email a couple days ago I am not sure if you saw it, but I just wanted to confirm that we really want you to be a part of this project. AOL Sports is moving quickly to get this network off the ground, so your response to this email is really appreciated.

Interested? Please contact Mike Diamond, our AOL Sports Blog Recruiter, via email (mikediamond06@aol.com)or phone (703-265-2543) as soon as possible. He is happy to speak with you anytime, and we really hope you'll take part in this.

All the best,
Jamie

It's too much of a popularity contest to me with the "household names" getting unjust nods

Touche. That would've been appropriate too. Just wanted to make light of any situations related to the teams covered here.

Actually, I thought it was ok not having Lee start... it should have been Matt Holliday in there for Soriano, IMO.

Alright Duane, the Sports Bar was a stretch. It's more of a BYOB sports gathering.

Thanks for the good words. I'm hope both teams stay competitive (to a degree) as well.
